usually the even numbered gens are disappointing and then they fix it in the odd number
4 was lifeless and repetitive, then the best gen in the series came to refine all its ideas into a perfect form
gen 6 was a dumpster fire of half-baked ideas and incompetent design
then gen 7 was all the good of gen 6 mixed with brilliant innovation
hopefully the miserable dumpster fire of gen 8 will lead to a good gen 9. but they have so many bootlickers like

>>42526710 that they don't need to change anything. i fully expect gen 9 to be even worse, full of microtransactions and with even less content and more aggressive handholding for brain damaged toddlers, because they have no reason to try hard anymore.
