Everyone implying that Gamefreak without a doubt, no questions asked, said "let's make the longcat meme into a Pokemon lmao" is fucking dumb. Gigantamax Meowth being a dead ringer for the longcat meme is NOT a 100% guarantee that that is what took place.
I'm not arguing that Gigantamax Meowth isn't a longcat reference, I'm arguing that it isn't necessarily one until proven otherwise and you guys aren't thinking logically for making assumptions and acting like they are fact based only on a gut feeling.
It doesn't matter whether or not it's a reference should it ever be confirmed/deconfirmed, what matters is that /vp/ loves treating their unconfirmed headcanons as fact and that's such a stupid mentality.
