>>42535793To be fair, making a dunkelosteous now that we have relicanth would relegate the new fish to “ripoff/nu-relicanth” status.
Yes I know they’re different fish with different roles in the story of paleontology and discovering missing links in evolution, but this is a kid’s game with simplified designs that can only convey so much>>42535814>>42535858I disagree with you BUT I’m looking at it from the “let’s create mismatched fossils which only become apparent when you suddenly throw them in a magic revival machine” perspective.
The IRL “bone wars” had some frankly retarded/wacky results, but most of the time they boiled down to “one whole skeleton with some of the missing bones from an incomplete donor of the same species nearby,” or “I put the head of a diplodocus on an apatosaurus, because you can’t tell that much difference anyway.”
I’m not digging at you, I want ideas from anons who think the abomimons we got could have been done better or differently—how would you have done mismatched fossils in-game? Remember, it’s gotta look obvious enough that kids can pick up on scientists trying to bamboozle them in-game; bonus points if the bones alone might make sense but adding skin/muscle reveals the sham.
