>>42543215If you ask me, I don't care if all the mons are back, the game is still shit. X/Y had all the mons up to that point and that didn't stop it from being bad.
People need to look past the dex cut not because it's a great game, but because there are problems either equal to or larger than the cut.
I got into this series recently and grew up with mostly the PS1 era games. When I look at this franchise as a newcomer I see it being mediocre and never pushing the boundaries. The games I enjoyed growing up pushed what you can do with something as basic as a CD player 32 bit system. GF manages to make good concepts but never EVER execute them well and it's hard for me to understand why so few fans of this series never notice things like all the bad writing, constant handholding and never breaking from the RSE formula of Evil team being priority.
Most series I grew up with had similar structures but drastically changed presentation and it worked for quite a few of them. (Spyro 1-3, Sly Trilogy, and the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy to name a few)
Nintendo normally makes good games and publishes good games usually too, it's a shame pokemon isn't on par with it's other Nintendo contemporaries.
