Mr.Mime was pretty kickass in the battle he used it in so it's all good.
For the record, given how much supplementary material has referred to it as such and Ash is the only one who's ever been shown with its Poke Ball, Mr.Mime is probably his, just given to his mother.

Mr.Mime was caught around episode 65 of OS so no it wasn't his mother's the whole time. His mother befriended it but was never shown explicitly catching it. In all likelihood Ash probably caught it for her and gave her the ball or something as the only time we saw Mimey in a ball was when Ash brought it to the Hoenn tournament a couple episodes ago

Goodra was a jobber, Butterfree was a good egg but it's just a Butterfree. Pidgeot only really did anything of note in the battle with Misty and Team Rocket when they were manning the Viridian Gym other than that it was a jobber.

It came back to beat up some UBs and help him in the league for a couple episodes then went back home.
It might be hard to imagine but in-universe they're actually sentient creatures with individuality and their own desires.
As for why I watch it, it's harmless fun.

To be fair with the Ultra Beasts the goal of catching them was just to release them into their own worlds again, Ash just kept Poipole a little longer and got it back as a Naganadel for one battle with Kukui. Really Seaking, Buzzwole, Stakataka and Pheromosa should count as Pokémon Ash caught, people just don't count them because they were caught with the intent to release them later... even though he did the exact same thing with Lapras and Poipole.

Goodra was the biggest waste of a league return. Charizard beat Gary's Blastoise, Gliscor beat Paul's Drapion and Naganadel beat Kukui's Lucario. Goodra was just an excuse for Ash to not catch another Pokémon.

Where did I imply that Lapras knew more than two moves? Where did I use Snorlax as an example? All I said is that in the anime the move limit rule doesn't exist and/or is very warped, Pokémon can use more than four moves, it's likely they just choose not to.

It is true that nowadays Pokemon almost never use more than 4 moves simultaneously and whenever they learn a new one the old one gets replaced (Like Pikachu learning electroweb which replaced electro ball which replaced volt tackle).
The most infamous case of a Pokemon having more than 4 moves was Not-Lance's Dragonite in the Orange Islands which had but things like that have since become a lot less common

It came back when a bunch of Guzzlords were wrecking the stadium after Ash defeated Gladion in the Alola league, and then since he would be battling Kukui in a 6v6 battle he asked if he could use Naganadel (he still had its pokeball). After he won the match Naganadel went back home.

That's just especulation, Pokémon use whatever moves their trainer orders them to use.
Also, I need to hammer this home, I never said ALL Pokémon KNOW four moves or more you reprobate, I said Pokémon CAN know more than four moves.

Ash's female companions are all over the map. The last time we saw May, she was traveling through Johto. Dawn went to Johto to participate in the Wallace Cup there and we don't know if she was actually traveling on a new journey or not. Iris was last seen in Johto with no indication as to her future plans. Serena went to Hoenn at the end of XY to compete in the Showcases there.

It's usually a weaker move becoming a stronger move of the same type. It just sporadically happens though sometimes it's a move that a Pokemon practices to learn

Yes that is a possibility, as is the possibility they know more than 4 moves but all of them are shit, or they know exactly 4 moves, or they know less than 4 moves, just because that is a possibility it does not mean it is the case.
