The way i see it, outside of fake out, flinching does nothing but harm competitive pokemon.

The fact that togekiss or rachi scarfed can literally be wincons because of luck is absolutely retarded, it doesnt push the players to be better it just gives them an excuse to think they are good. You have pokemon 1v1ing others that shouldnt have no business in doing so, like weavile with icicle crash on skarm for example or now with cloyster using kings rock being able to 1v1 ferro, pex and potentially anything that doesnt outspeed it after a shell smash. Same shit with vgc and rock slide, arguably even worse since there are more pokemon that can get flinched it just means the game is much more dictated by flinches or not compared to singles.
