- Bring the QoL improvements from later generations in (Phys/Spec Split, PokeCenter-Mart merge, etc.)
- Integrate the Draconid Tribe and Mega Evolution/Primal Reversion into the main plot, but follow XY's lore on Mega Evolution
- Expand on Team Magma & Aqua's presence in the region both in encounters and visual presence
- Rework the Safari Zone into a Wild Area that uses the old Safari Zone rules of no battling and iterates on the Wild Area by allowing the player to catch Pokemon in the overworld
- Rework the Gyms with new puzzles that play off the fact the series is in 3D, you can keep the general concept of certain gyms such as the choose your opponent idea of Norman's Gym or the blackout of Brawly's Gym.
- Add in more trainers to allow for more optional double battles as well as some potential optional triple battles
- Bring the DexNav back with its previous functionality but also expand it to allow for the potential of a Pokemon not normally found in that location to appear (e.g. Slakoth on Route 104)
- Bring back the Battle Tents although add new variations to battling that make the battling distinct from much of the rest of the game (hell have one dedicated to Inverse Battles if you want)
- Keep Emerald's Battle Frontier as it is but iterate on some of the existing buildings to make them more divergent from one another (namely Arena, Dome, Pike & Palace)
- Add in the Gen IV Evos and Pre-Evos to previous generation Pokemon as part of the Regional Dex
- Revamp the dungeons to be larger, also add in optional new dungeons that serve a post-game function of being non-Gen III legendary locations
- Rework the HMs so they're more versatile and cut out Waterfall and Dive making Surf being able to do their jobs
