I'm still getting used to the new mechanics and the biggest problem I'm finding myself face is setting up Trick Room on turn 1 against an opponent who Dynamaxes right off the bat. You can't redirect max moves with Follow Me and Gastrodon can't sponge Max Geyser with Storm Drain either. If I suspect an opponent is Dynamaxing on turn 1, do I switch my TR setter and stall out their Dynamax with resists and Protect or do I Dynamax my TR setter and Max Guard, while they throw max moves my way, essentially turning the fight into pre Gen 8 mechanics?
