>>42569140Do you have any idea how many people live in the United States? 329 million.
Gun crime in general is vastly overblown by the media and uses stats that aren't relevant. For example, that number of 288 includes accidental discharges in school zones. Is a security officer's gun discharging and hitting no one a school shooting? How about suicides? Would you consider suicide a gun crime? Because they make up the vast majority of reported gun crime by many media firms.
The only notably high "gun violence" in the States comes from suicide victims (~60% of all "gun crime" and gang members, who shoot at each other, and largely take place in large urban centers like Chicago or Detroit. What you have left for mass shootings, murders, etc. is incredibly low, especially given the population size. Hell, violent crime in general is at a near 50-year low.
Meanwhile, Americans get to enjoy the right to hunt, target shoot, and protect themselves and their families from those who would harm them, even the government. If you can't see why firearm ownership is important, you've been propagandized.
