Character models look worse, but the environmental complexity/ flourishes are clearly more technologically advanced than SwSh. Still looks terrible, don't get me wrong.

It looks more "consistent" than Sword and Shield, which suffers from clashing aesthetics between the characters, Pokemon, cities, and wild area. I'd prefer if it all looked kind of like the PMD remake, pseudo watercolor shaders.

The environment does at least, though I'm not fond of the human models. But the game is in early access and doesn't come out proper til next year.

Graphically sure, remember sword and shield has nintendo 64 trees, HOWEVER it is obvious that pokemon has better character and monster designs

the temtem devs really fucked up when it comes to art direction, if at the very least the characters had nicer faces and proportions their game wouldn't look like shit

Good thing they're not rating it on the human models alone then, because everything else included: yes, TemTem looks better than SwSh. The artstyle is minimal and there might be less work out into it than SwSh (somehow) but whatever they did, it looks better.

Well done Sherlock, another case solved!
No way it has better animations though. Long grass is just a solid 3d object that wobbles when you move through it. Characters have zero facial animations, and use VN style cutscenes. SW/Sh had issues, but this is just dogshit. The Vita had better games than this.

It looks 20x better than Shit and Shart. The characters look disgusting for sure, though to be fair most of Swoosh's characters look awful too. And even if you hate it, Temtem DOES have a cohesive artstyle.

Digital Foundry, specifically the guy who did this video, are pretty open on thinking GF is a bad team. They said Lets Go was unacceptably bare with it being a remake not being an excuse, Sword and Shield lack visual polish you would see in first party Nintendo games or AA third party games, the lack of functional multiplayer is a big blow, the framerate should be higher with no real reason to drop ever, and that Dynamaxing isn't a big deal.

Even if those are true it's still a first party nintendo game vs and indie. You can hold both to the excat same standards sure but then that means if Pokemon doesn't compltely blow it's oppostion out of the water then is considered lackluster.
