They had a different fan name (as no official source has named them, aside from maybe internal names in the code which I haven't seen), but IVs were still in Gen 1 and 2. They were a bit or two less, technically, but the difference between DV's 15 and IV's 31 is a lot less different than the difference between Stat EXP and EVs.
