Snow is an insulator. That's the reason why it's recommended to pile up snow around your car if you become stranded (take care not to cover your tailpipe, tho). It perfectly fits this line.

How about just making that an entirely new evolutionary line, like I'm all for new forms for old Pokemon but when you've got an interesting basis like glowworms I think an entirely new Pokemon is more warranted.

I agree with anon here. The appeal of the other Burmys was its use of actually insulative materials. There is no reason for it to cover itself with snow even if it is a Pokémon. Why wouldn’t it just use leaves?

I want to like this thing so much and I do as a concept, but none of the current cloaks stick out to me. We definitely need more. And not as some gimmicky regional form or something just add more cloaks it’s not that hard no one cares if it’d be a retcon

People talking about Eevee and Wormadam getting alt forms like this, desu I would like to see more forms for other Pokemon as well. You'd think given Shellos and Gastrodon vary within a region itself they'd have gotten Regional Variants by now, I think it'd be cool too if Wurmple got Regional Evolutions since the way it evolves into two different Pokemon could be interpreted as it evolving to adapt to its environment. It'd be cool if Furfrou got some new coats with each region as well (although the coats need to do more than just be aesthetic, I think making it so each coat is able to learn a unique move, ala Rotom forms but instead of type changes each one has a stat variation). Also speaking of which, new Rotom forms would be cool (that are actually usable).

The ice age didn't kill the dinosaurs, stupid. Aurorus is partly Ice-themed because the dinosaur it's based on, Amargasaurus , is from the far south - close to the antarctic circle when it was alive.
