You can clearly tell that there's no fucking way you can fit a counter for every strategy in a dex with 800+ Pokemon in a tiny team of 3, 4 or 6.
This forces everyone to run a team bloated with good dual type legendaries and powercreep, Which is why the most used Pokemon are shit Lando, Heatran, Tapus, Ultra beasts and megas.
While gen 8 has Lando-tier overused shit like Corviknight or Excadrill, those Pokemon are much easier to beat to your average Pokemon than the powercreep shit you see everywhere in gen 7 OU, which allows Pokemon with lesser powercreep to be viable.
There's no wonder hardly anyone plays gen 7 OU anymore.
