The way it worked with Bank was that you could transfer out but not put anything in, and there was the possibility of your collection getting deleted.
However, a lot of people left pokemon in Bank for months or years without getting anything deleted, so it's not clear how often they actually cleaned it out.

They're still programmed into the game, though, even if just as text. The same is not true for the Pokémon themselves. They wouldn't allow you to import mons with illegal moves at all if they weren't planning on making them available again at some point. The move names are placeholders.

Like trying to bring over a Pokemon with Hidden Power? The sensible answer would be that they'd delete it upon transferring the Pokemon into Galar, but I'm just afraid they'll ask you to delete it first but the Home app would have no function for this, meaning you would have needed the foresight to delete it to begin with

I've not had a problem, but I've a decent internet set-up too as I recognised the failings in my environment regarding the Switch's online functions and adjusted for them. As to the justification, it really does. No, my modem is through two walls from where my Switch is, even my laptops only got 2-3 marks of signal, where I'm sat without a booster. Played Splat heavily on launch and while I'd get unstable warnings, rarely DQ'ed, then had a week where they spiked and I wired up. No problems since (no problems when I was sat near the modem either, just to point out). I get people think their internet is great, but most internet is dogshit and people are misled to think their problems arise for something lese, rather than the fact their provider or setup's a bit dogshit.

Not really, but consider this: Bank was and is $11 cheaper than this supposedly “enhanced” version of basically Pokemon Bank.

So, $20 for NSO and $16 for Home vs. $5 for Bank. Total cost then: $45/year vs $126 for the first year then $36 every year after that.

However, do you see how terrible Home is? I wouldn't put it past them to suddenly ban everyone NOW even though they never did it before. The only other time they did it was the release of SM, and we still don't know what exactly caused that ban. I think you should get all his Pokémon back in one game, and move them all to PKSM (the free version of Pokémon Bank) just to be extra safe.

It literally does not. You can transfer them out, you just can't put any back in.
You also have to willingly put data into it. It's not like it's vacuuming all your pokemon out of your cartridges without your permission and then asking you to pay up to get them back.

It is misleading by convincing its buyers to store mons from Bank in there despite them not being available in Gen 8 to begin with. Also, transfers from bank are one way so you cant send them back and you cant even transfer without buying the subscription which requires you to agree to the terms that they can do whatever the fuck they want first.
