People are right about Gamefreak being lazy, but its a shit ton easier to work around a console's limitations when its existed for 20 years. ROM hackers ironically have more experience with the engine than gamefreak themselves

I'd argue Gen 7 was decent looking for a 3DS game. Poorly optimized, sure, but better looking than a ton of other 3DS games.
