The kickstarter trailer for Kindred Fates is out. What are /vp/s thoughts about this new monster catching game? A stretchgoal seems to be turnbased combat as well.

No, the combat is more like actual fighting with the monsters in this game, alike to mmo/first person moba combat. Watching the trailer would be a good start my man.

Honestly I'm not very sure. However they have been posting so much content and the trailer is so solid I have a lot more faith in this project in comparison to others I've backed. You can't just make fighting monsters like that with full custom animations, custom models, custom designs, custom sound effects, custom particle effects, etc and not know what you're doing.

I don't even think any of the stuff we're seeing in the game is placeholder models, which many indie devs like to do. They're all premade models that are going to be updated as they get more money.

I'm just a fan who really wants this to succeed. I'm tired of pokemon making shit designs and crapping all over my dreams. This is really my dream monster catching game, open world monsters actually fighting each other.

I think there's a LOT of potential in the monster-catching genre, but we need to show as consumers that it's a product we want to invest into. Monopolies on game genres like Pokemon cause issues where we're paying hundreds of dollars for a mediocre experience. That needs to change asap.

Now this game has designs I can get behind. I’m skeptical on the action based combat but I’m willing to give it a go. Plus I like speaking Monsters, if I’m supposed to form a strong with these creatures I want to know how they really feel and prefer them express it through speech and not stupidly screeching their name over and over. If you’re gonna make them not talk have them ALL make beast like noises.
