I had fun with SwSh

I enjoyed it well enough, until the last 1/4 of the game when if fell apart hard. After that I have no desire whatsoever to play it again.

I hate to break it to you anon but just because you’ve heard the opinion before doesn’t mean that I’m just following whatever the circlejerk says. I genuinely didn’t get much out of the games, and even compared to the last two generations I thought it was a really, really weak entry. The whole game feels half-finished but it really starts to deteriorate the most in that last third which is where it becomes painfully clear that the game needed another year or so of development which they’re now selling for another thirty dollars.

What upsets me the most about SwSh is that I found it genuinely enjoyable in some aspects and others terrible.
Like most of the new Pokemon look great, the gym leaders and new stadiums were great, I really really liked the tournament for the championship. But I also can't ignore the very bad things in the game that threw me out of it like the Piers concert, the big boss of the story basically being autocompleted by NPC Zacian and Zama, the lack of polish all over the game, and the reused models and animations. The Battle Tower changes I think were great by not killing your streak but the tower battles themselves were piss easy which makes the whole reason of removing streaks worthless.
I'm done with the game till DLC because I genuinely hope that the expansions improve on the wild area, which honestly it was one of the best things this game did. It should have one weather for all areas at all times instead of once a month, and I'm betting they're gonna do the same for the new areas, but I want to hope they'll make better on DLC, potentially with an actual battle frontier or set of facilities? They did say new challenges are coming, so I'm hoping for the best.
TLDR I'm a faggot fence sitter with mixed feelings and can't decide whether or not I actually liked it.

It's a bad game and I'm not getting the DLC unless Jesus Christ comes down and blesses it as the way to heaven, but I did still have fun with it. For all the terrible things it has and every lack of improvement, Pokemon's core gameplay is just dumb fun. Throwing these virtual creatures a ball to retrieve and feeding them and the gyms and everything was still fun despite every shitty ladder za warudo and awful cutscenes.
Eiscue is fucking stupid.
That's about it. Basically >>42580325 but I'm not willing to do the tower because I'm a dumbfuck who doesn't want to grind.

It was good yeah. Got more hours in it than I ever did in the NDS games just because the whole experience is just smoother. Even breeding eggs somehow feels faster now.
