The BW sprite and Sugimori art look good. Even though the 3DS model is faithful to Sugimori's artwork, it doesn't look nearly as good in my opinion. It's nearly in pastels which doesn't really fit Parasect, and on top of that it has less charm to it in my opinion. I'm not sure exactly what it is that causes that, but maybe something to do with the 3DS models not having found their own style yet? BW and Sugimori each clearly have their own. The 3DS's style is just an inferior imitation of Sugimori.
