Lance has 3 dragonites with the strongest being level 50. If you could beat 1 you could sure beat 3, and that's literally half his team. Blue's AI was shit but at least he had a variety of good Pokemon.

Lance is my favorite champ because he’s so hands on.
Cynthia did the same sort of thing in gen 4. Roaming around, being involved with the plot. But her role was so detailed that it didn’t leave much to the imagination, where as Lances depiction made him feel like another player character. Like he’s REALLY strong... and I could get that strong as well.
