As much as it pains me to say it sold like fucking hot cakes. People who haven't played since gen 1 or 2 picked this game up. Everyone at my card shop had it on their switch. Easily 12+ Million. Pokemon is fucking dead.

Selling more that LGPE is a give-in. By the way, why do we have these threads again? Regardless if it sold well or not, does anyone REALLY believe Gamefreak would have changed that drastically? LGPE flopped compared to every other mainline game and yet it's still on par with SWSH, dare I even say it looks better aesthetically. The series has been shit since XY came out, I don't think we're getting anything new even if SWSH breaks series records...

Only a deluded fool would think these games flopped, as much as I wish it was true, but it shows too many fans of Pokémon (and Nintendo games to some extent) are just satisfied enough with the basic formula done right.
It's a shame but GF is smart to execute just what they need to cater the most easily exploitable consumer base. Because maybe the majority of people aren't interested in complex or innovative Pokémon games anyway, or ones with a dip higher standart in its features.
It shows how if it wasn't for the Dex cut how many fans wouldn't have realized the other issues with these games and their stagnation.
And so, Pokémon is doomed to become the supreme pleb franchise.
