Pokemon being made of rocks is fine.The perfectly flat surfaces, rounded corners and painted-on details on Stonjourner makes it look less rock-like, and more like it is made out of plastic or filled with air.

Except that's blatantly wrong. It's not the concept of inanimate object monsters that's bad but how they're executed. Magnemite is at least unique, whereas if it were a nu-gen Pokemon it'd be a literal cartoon magnet with eyes on it, Hell even Nosepass avoids this. See >>42588069 as well.

They are both piles of what appear to be constructed slabs of stone. And that's all Stonjourner has. At least Stakataka also has the alien hivemind thing going on.

That's because making Stonjourner specifically Stonehenge would be weird when it inevitably appears in future regions, so they made it more of a generic dolmen. Better than something like Comfey in that regard.

Like through it being a sun-framing calendar into the design, or add an ancient aliens reference into it, expand on the vaguely Celtic-knot like designs on its feet as an element, I don’t care, just give it something.
