I’m thinking of switching up my ‘main’ team for good, and I’ve yet to decide on a fire type to replace my Salazzle.

Should I take an Intimidate Arcanine and keep a Rapidash to be the Fairy/Psychic on my team, or wait until Isle of Armor returns for a chance that Delphox returns and take a Sylveon in place of Rapidash?

Arcanine is better for doubles than singles because intimidate affects both opponents, but it's still pretty good in singles. Intimidate being able to shit on physical attackers is always great.
Rapidash and Sylveon aren't even really comparable because they have different roles, but if you can only have one, I'd go with Sylveon.
Sylveon is bulky, has recovery, and can stay in battle for a while. It can even heal allies with Wish.
Rapidash's best strengths are attack and speed, but it's not amazing in either regard. Good, but not good enough. It's also setup reliant and a bit frail, so it could just get bodied when trying to use Swords Dance.
Delphox is probably going to be in the DLC. I'd be surprised if all of the starters weren't.

I don’t want to have more than two monotypes on my team, and my Inteleon is staying with me, thus leaving room for only one.
I understand this isn’t the wisest choice, but I feel like doing this.
