I think the US could use some better social policies. The wealth distribution there is shit, and I'm fully aware medical conditions can bankrupt you. Socialism is absolutely not the answer however, because socialism is very dumb as stated earlier.
Adopting socialism will not solve these problems, it'll just make it so everyone has these problems equally and end up putting a tyrant in charge.
However, don't think the western European system is flawless. We are highly susceptible to exploitation by immigrants. A system with a big government teat will attract leeches. The US would have to improve border security immensely if it wants to adopt a system like ours, but as it is.. the socialist elements of the US left want to legalize illegal immigration or even abolish the border. That would ruin any chance of social policies working out for you.
