It stopped after the DLC announcement but then cropped back up when Home's details were announced. Now all that's left is for more bugs to show up, Home to release and the DLC to roll around and then some to see how worse things can go.

I mean, they walked back Home having immediate Pokemon Go compatibility, even though they clearly already have an import solution as of Let's Go. inb4 "that's different," how is importing from Go's data to a universal data structure, something they can already do, different?

They're walking back on everything honestly. Even during the DLC announcement a few weeks ago they were like "Home is releasing on February, we don't know when and we'll provide more details soon so please bare with us!" Everything screams last minute decisions.
I can only imagine how much development hell is behind the scenes. Not like they'd ever let out such information.

The only way to win is to support another monster catching game and make it into what Pokemon used to be. I think the problem is the casualization, the Pokemon series in comparison to Sonic has a lot more people who are fans through things like Pokemon Go or the anime in recent times. They could range from someone's mom to even grandaunt. The Sonic series doesn't have that issue which is why they're always memed to death. With the Pokemon series it's no longer the "Haha he plays a baby game in public anymore"

That's true, but with recent stuff like Mania being praised to hell and back, it's easy to disregard or overlook that criticism because of the way it overshadowed it. Pokemon on the other hand though never gets that and is somehow still overlooked. People who even give one lick of criticism get anally fucked by hordes of supporters and hardcore shills.
