>>42603050He's my favourite rival. I actually cared about fighting him for more than just "finally a character with an actual team" because of his issues and how he actually reacts to losing. He made me feel for him because of him always living in his brother's, and now the player character's shadow, despite how earnest he is about battling. All the other rivals that talked about 'finding themselves' didn't feel very compelling because beating them doesn't feel like a big deal in the first place, and the ones that are always just confident/competitive feel shallow because it feels like there's barely a person behind the guy that's always challenging you.
