>>42605387>so your only real option is to try and burn it while hoping it runs out of Mega Drain PPAcid spray completely burns through it if you have any special attackers. Toxic Spikes can poison it before it transforms though admittedly that only works in the second fight against it. You have access to powerful Pokemon for the early game like Mightyena that can power through it. Espurr is one of the strongest Pokemon during the early game and can support the team with Light Screen (mitigating most of Tangrowth's damage) or just try and power through it with Psyshock or even Confusion. Raticate and Linoone can easily burst past it. Numel completely blows through it. Bug types get a large boost from the field effect and can burst through it as well.
You don't need to use all of these Pokemon or even any of these Pokemon, but they can help if you're willing to think before you go yoloing into every battle.
>The field effects are all designed to fuck you over unless you bring EXACTLY the right Pokémon with EXACTLY the right moveThere are half a dozen different ways to handle field effects.
Bring type counters and just bum rush the boss. It's still a viable strategy, it's just not a guaranteed win.
Bring Pokemon that take advantage of the field. Most opponents don't actually have coverage moves to cover their own type, so you can beat them out in the long game.
Change the field. Terrain moves like Electric Terrain or Psychic Terrain, lesser moves like Mist, later on certain Z-moves like Stoked Sparksurfer can completely remove the field effects and replace them with your own, giving your own team the field advantage.
Many fields can also be changed to your preferences in the middle of battle. The Forest field, for example, can be set on fire if you use powerful fire moves, which would completely fuck over an opponent that was trying to rely on it too heavily.
I'm sorry if this was all a bit too much for you to grasp, though. Stick to the main games.
