I think I finally figured out what, out of everything, pissed me off about Pokémon the most. Yes, the natdex shit did play a good part of it, but there's an underlying reason to even that.
What bothers me the absolute most is that Pokémon is steering away from single player experiences. The plot is lackluster at most. Wild Area requires other players to fully enjoy. The main game is easy. There is no reason to buy it for the single player experience and the natdex thing was basically a massive fuck you: the collectathon cannot be done in a single game at all, and requires what, a fucking $16 yearly subscription? On top of all the shit I have to pay for? It's clear the direction Pokémon is heading towards... Could be casualization, but it's better described as leaving single player experience as short as possible to do the endgame shit as soon as possible.
And personally? I hate multi-player games. I prefer doing everything by myself, at my pace, without involving anyone else with my shit.
And while Pokémon always required other players at some extent, this time over, and unlike previous generations, you have a very lackluster game if you don't do multi-player shit.
Thoughts?
