You only *really* need a Fire type in Sinnoh for Candice, and even then you could just use a Fighting type once you get past her oddly chosen Medicham. It could help with Aaron, but it's not necessary. Gardenia gets fucked by Staravia which almost everyone would have at that point and Byron can be swept by a good Ground move. The worst part about it is that there is a Fire type Elite 4 member, though some people like the variety he has.

None of this matters though because it's "fixed" in Platinum, although you could argue there still isn't enough Fire types, and Magmortar is a trade evolution.

Also Sinnoh is a cold region.

Yes, Platinum is objectively better than DP, but not THAT much better. DP are great games, while Platinum is an amazing game. If you accept that, that's quite frankly your problem that you need to come to terms with. BW2, on the other hand, has a shitty region with painfully linear progression and no off the beaten path exploration to speak of like in DPPt. Gen 5's visuals are a disaster. Horrible sprite pixelation, mediocre character designs and bad art direction in general. The music is a massive step down from DPPt as well. The meta is also much worse and less interesting than Gen 4's meta. The pacing is awful with too much story and fluff interrupting the gameplay.

Sinnoh is a great region, but all of D/P's flaws held it back awfully. And then Platinum fixes everything while adding more good shit to make it a perfect game.
Unova was linear as fuck indeed (an issue they tried to mask in 2 by changing the shape of the line), but in this case the games themselves were so good and had so many great features that they account for it, while the 2s added so many more great features that they offset the linearity. I'm with you on the constant cutscenes, but I completely disagree on the music as it was basically a huge homage to the entire series and it had this masterpiece:

It's just temperate. Twist Mountain and Giant Chasm might be a little chilly, but none of those places have snow all the time. Snowpoint City literally has snow in the name and the protagonists of Sinnoh wear coats year round. Sinnoh is clearly way colder than Unova.

Only in Winter, in the other seasons it looks no different from the rest of the region

Also the Pokemon regions aren't 1:1 of their real life counterparts if that was the case then Kalos should be the second coldest region and the coldest parts should be the north not the east, also Galar's temperature gradient is the reverse of the UK's due to its orientation.

I get that, my issue is how far does the creative liberty go? Kanto and Johto are relatively accurate to the areas they represent. Hoenn is to a degree and Sinnoh does as well. GF really sucks at portraying another country outside of their own if you ask me.

Sydney is the only one without a repeating teammate. Why did they pick the types with the rarest amount of candidates just to make them hard? I was talking to a friend about this recently. He claims Volkner cheated since he used a completely different type from his theme (Octillery in DP). I thought it was a small twist in the challenge coming from the final gym leader of the region. While gym trainers have used different types (as early as the camper in brock’s gym having a sandshrew in Red) I don’t think gym leaders specifically have done so until Volkner in DP.
