Pokemon is a series frozen in time. The battle mechanics are stale and one-dimensional. Competitive is over-reliant on exploiting the most broken aspects of the game and is almost unrecognizable when compared to how the game is played regularly. I think it's time GF pulls a Sonic Mania and recruit talented fans to develop a title separate from the main series that isn't your usual spin-off and see what interesting mechanics can be explored with this IP.
