Ground types are immune to electricity
they can't be paralyzed by thunder wave, but they can be paralyzed by glare (which makes sense because it's like petrification) or body slam (not really sure how it paralyzes but it shouldn't be electricity)
Static is basically a passive thunder wave so ground types should be immune to it
I wasn't convinced before but OP is 100% right
