Also, for the people who bought two, I would discount that as a lot of families have multiple kids, or even single kid families would grab one for the kid, one for the parents. I'd be surprised if even 40,000 people bought both games just for themselves.

Gamefreak has to develop a game by itself every year, and they get less than 30% of the profit other developers get because most of the profit goes to Nintendo (who does nothing but market the game) and TPCi (basically just a shell company to make some of Yamauchi old friends' families even more wealthy)

With how well the Switch has sold, Sword and Shield should have been a landslide sales milestone compared to the last few generations but it seems to have stopped short of such a goal.

Nintendo just said in their investor meeting yesterday that they are renting a fuck-huge building and are moving all their personel there, plus a few partner studios like Gamefreak and 1-UP Studios, to increase efficiency and communication between teams.
