Are the cutscenes in Sword and Shield as invasive as they are in Gen 6/7? I boycotted the games but now plan to buy them when the second DLC comes out.

Not quite as bad as the beginning of Sun and Moon since you can say you already know shit and skip a lot of tutorials now, but on par with SM otherwise

yes they are, the game basically railroads you through its already extremely linear "" story"" via cutscenes. as soon as you're done with something, some character will interrupt you to tell you what to do next.

I would say it's on par with Gen 6, but better than Gen 7

I don't remember gen 7 very well, how is 10-14 (i think that was the time on that lets play i watched) minutes of walking and cutscenes before you get your first battle?
