The important part there is the

When the established meta is that you can catch any pokemon and add it to your team, being put in a situation where you got different pokemon than the one you caught can tug on that suspension of disbelief. You think "Oh its like that because it would be broken otherwise" and you realise that its only like that because its a game. I've seen a few people complaining that you can't G-max eternatus into the boss version and this is why.
If something like a regigigas was rampaging and it started the battle without slow start, that's something that makes sense after you catch it. But if you just encounter an articuno like pic related, i can't really think of any situation where it would have an advantage that wasn't transferable to the player outside of arena effects like
