Like feel free to criticizes their human rights abuses or annexation of land, but they’re arguably a more “legitimate state” than most other countries period. Their formal creation and recognition as a country occurred through a majority United Nations vote, that’s a hell of a lot more legitimate than the usual,
>We gathered a large enough army together on this land to defend it and have it backing a government we formed. We say we are now a country.or
>We invaded this land with an army and are now installing a government over the people who were living here. We say this is now a new country.or
>We used an army to fight off the army of the country who we used to belong to. Because we didn’t lose, we now say we are an independent country.
