Charizard became just an easy way for newcomers to pretend that they are hardcore pokemon fans.

Most people who joined Pokemon after GO don't know jackshit about Pokemon but they realized charizard is popular and then mindlessly identified themselves as charizard fans to fit in.

I swear I saw a lot of "charizard fans" who don't know a lot of things about Pokemon games like Stealth Rocks, hidden abilities or how speed stats work.
