>>42661323> Platinum basically overwrites their existence completely, even more than emerald did for rsYeah definitely, I think the reason Pt comes off as being the definitive version more so than Emerald is because you're only dealing with one antagonistic team and their goal doesn't really change that much between versions, Dialga & Palkia in essence serving the same function and in Platinum they basically correct it by having both.
Whereas by contrast Emerald attempts to jam all of both Ruby and Sapphire's villain plots into the same region which I know some people consider Emerald to have a more poorly paced story as a result. Honestly it becomes even more disappointing that ORAS wasn't a remake to Emerald in that sense since they could've fixed Emerald's plot being a bit Frankenstein in nature by increasing the overall size of Hoenn giving more time to develop both Team Magma & Team Aqua, also in essence completing what HGSS seemed to be moving towards, that being the remakes emulating the Third Versions more than the originals.
