And why isn’t Riolu in Unova?
In fact, why are all the Pokemon in National Dex order, not Regional, and why don’t they appear multiple times?

This just feels like shitty damage control to avoid admitting that LGPE are just spin offs and that GameFreak only called them mainline to boost sales, or that Melmetal is Gen 8

Let's Go isn't a spinoff and is a gen 7 game. There is no reason why it would be.

Meltan and Melmetal were introduced in Let's Go and Pokemon GO, and GO doesn't have a defined region. They stuck it in with Galar because you can't obtain them in the Alola games.

Google probably defined the list on regions because thats easier for casuals and outsiders to understand.

It’s still grouped with the Gen 8 Pokemon.
And like I said before, some Pokemon are only catchable in regions that they didn’t first appear in (like Murkrow and Riolu)

it's obvious they would group them with another gen, and they choosed gen 8 because it's the first region where you can train them

seems like this boils down to if you think LGPE is a spinoff. if you think it is then meltan can be a gen 8 pokemon like how bonsly was a gen 4 pokemon in a gen 3 spinoff. but if you think it's a mainline gen 7 remake then meltan is a gen 7 pokemon. just because the game is a bad remake doesn't mean it's a spinoff

The difference is GF didn't work on the spinoffs gen 4 Pokemon were in, and they consider LGPE as a mainline title by their own classification. But GF are a bunch of nepotistic narcissists so that doesn't mean much, hence the "etc"

Even in Gale of Darkness, the new Pokemon were only half-Pokemon. Munchlax couldn't be used in battle and Bonsly could only be used during a minigame where you use rental Pokemon with only one attack.

Simple solution: LGPE is mainline but NOT Gen 7 OR Gen 8. It cuts major features from Gens 2-7 like Abilities and has no backwards compatibility with SMUSUM. It's in its own weird nebulous state.
