The natdex meta is obviously not a perfect match to the future DLC meta, but all the Pokémon cited as Koko competitors in that short blurb are already in, or are confirmed for the expansions (except Genesect), and so are many of the Pokémon that give it trouble like Excadrill, Ferrothorn, Landorus-T, Rotom-H, Garchomp and so on. Unless it gets radical movepool updates it's hard to imagine it being any better in the "real" metagame.
