I would say Ground has the least thematic consistency out of all the types, which is funny given how vague Fairy can be. So it's difficult to see how anyone would pick it as their favorite type.

Thanks OP, I thought I hated Ground types but then you made me check and I found several I like.

The problem is the type itself is kind of forgettable. Outside of Excadrill and Golurk I remember all those other ones for their other type.

Meanwhile Ground is like
>mud figures
>stuff that lives on the ground (applies to most Pokemon)
>stuff that lives IN the ground
>"regular animal but it shoots sand"
>swamp animals
And even then, there are oddballs like Gliscor and Garchomp which are apparently airborne creatures but Ground type.

Rock should just own up to the crystal motif. So many ones just made out of grey rocks or gravel. I think we could use more elegant ones made of gemstone or obsidian.

Look at Grunbeld from Berserk, or those crystal lizards from Dark Souls. Or maybe an elegant Rock/Fighting warrior mon with a flowing cloak of glass.

Since Nihilego basically told us that glass = rock type, maybe a Rock/Psychic type themed after a mirror. Gets all screen moves, has magic bounce, gets mirror coat, etc.

Or if we're going into weird shit, maybe a Rock/Psychic or Rock/Ghost wizard that gets power from various crystals, and is a sig move that changes type and effect depending on what evolutionary stone It holds.
