That and it’s too clean. They may be a bit on the nose but at least with the fossils you can tell the parts don’t go together, Arctovish being the only one where it’s a bit harder to tell without context. This thing just looks like it could be a original creature design and I wouldn’t have blinked an eye.

Might have been able to fix this if it DID incorporate all the types in its design.

The main objective behind its creation was for it to be adaptable, not for it to represent all types at any one time. Even if they did try to shove in representation for all 18 types (which would immediately make the design outdated if they ever decided to add in another type to the franchise), people would be calling the design shit for having too much going on.

Doesn't take away from the fact that that's what people are going to say. If there's anything I actually respect Game Freak for, it's the self-control they display when designing their monsters. Should they create a chimera with a relatively simple design that people can still identify as a chimera, or should they go overboard as if the inspiration would have otherwise gone over people's heads to the point that it distracts from the fact that it's also supposed to be a man-made version of Arceus? Silvally didn't need all of that to get its point across.
