No, squares are more common in RE shinies. That OP is a brainlet who doesn't understand Mints, Caps and other concessions now make her reeing irrelevant as they're not "obviously hacked" any more.

Square shiny are much more common now. If you look at certain twitch/youtube circles, you'll encounter a bunch of soft resetters who share their shiny dens almost 24/7. I have a friend who is active among those tards and has like 200 shiny pokemon.

I thought squares were rare with random encounters and stars were rare with eggs.
Is it the other way around?
Also, has anyone figured out how the game actually decides which to use? I saw someone suggest that square means it was rerolled and star means it was shiny on the first check but that doesn't sound like it would make one more common only with certain methods of hunting, just that it would shift the odds while still having one that's common and one that's rare.

Squares were meant to be rare full stop (1/16th chance with stars 15/16th chance). Code esentially got fucked up and it's basically 100% chance of squares as the odds for stars got sent up over 17m to one.
