You can take them to any dungeon bar the 4 in the fugitive saga. Even then the dojo is available so it might be grindy but you can level your team up easily.
Not only that but seeing as before the main game ends you can force feed any characters in friend areas gummis to really beef up there stats.
When I was in the fugitive arc id collect gummis and give them to my other team members when I got back.
