I like a certain sub-section of Pokemon, not everything in it.
There's a lot of crap I hate. The core system is particularly beloved though so even stuff I hate is better than other games I dislike like most JRPGs and Pokemon "alternatives".

I like / liked Pokemon for certain reasons that are continually slipping.

I dislike competitive and the continuing oversimplification of the core entries most. Guaranteed though, the vast majority of even vocal haters on here will come back to the series after quitting or taking a break, that’s just how the series works. Even sword and shield would seem amazing if you hadn’t played in 4 or 5 years.

We hate unfinished products being thrown at us.
We hate yearly release schedules the franchise needs to follow.
We hate that ambition is no longer needed for the franchise to sell.
We hate Gamefreak,TPC, and the people who defend them.

But we don't hate Pokemon. Our love for it is eternal. We wish the franchise to be under passionate hands instead of profit-hungry ones.

I love the games conceptually, but I hate how GF executes it. What hurts is the fact that Genius Sonority showed what improving the series looks like and GF shot them down for challenging Masuda's work because Masuda has the biggest fucking ego apparently.
