Also event text in XY for Hoopa and Volcanion, foreshadowing Hoenn and Southern Kalos respectively.

We never did get to go back to Kalos though, even though there are two other "Kalos pentagon" games between ORAS and SM according to bank.

Yeah between AZ Floette and the "thousand" moves existing in XY's code, the original plan was probably for Zygarde to have two different super forms on a pair of boxart, each with a different move.

I don't think it's that much of a reach. "Power spots" are a huge part of Japanese spirituality and refer to areas with higher energy. While it's more likely this is galar foreshadowing as gamefreak has been known to do that, I could see other explanations as well.

Sorry to burst your bubble but power spots are a touristy thing in Japan mostly found around shrines. It's usually something like "if you and your lover walk over this power spot while holding hands your love will last forever".
It's just another joke with the tourist class of trainers looking for some kind of "authentic experience" on their holiday.
