Why are most Pokemon fans autistic?

It is shallow, though. There's a whole ton of cool shit you can imagine based on the premise (that's the real autist bait right there) but what's officially done with it is pretty meh. Regions are just a bunch of cheap stereotypes and clichés glued together with little meaning or thought and there's not really much to explore or appreciate as an adult. In fact the terrible world building/story writing is hands down the worst fucking part of Pokémon to me. Even for being focused on children it is bad.

Pokemon has a surprising amount of crazy trivia/lore and the competitive aspect of VGC and TCG is incredibly complicated.

There is also the fact that Pokemon is so bright and most of them are adorable except eternatus and a few exceptions.

The entire point of Pokemon is to get people to connect and interact like many people on the spectrum I enjoy having a form of escapism but things like trading in the main series Pokemon go and the card game have led to things like my first friendships and my first few relationships it got me out of my shell so I can learn how to interact properly when I was younger.

Source I'm an autistic person that has Pokemon as a special interest.

Pokemon games are inherently autistic. Without being real time, there's no need to really process things quickly or react and input actions in time and as a turn-based game it's completely non-stimulating because the gameplay is so braindead easy. The games just come down to pure repetition - the whole thing is a grind and that appeals to autists.
Pokemon's main draw comes from the monster design and a concept of making your own team of monsters personal to you, normalfags will just have a casual playthrough of the easy to sweep through game with some designs they like, most probably won't even touch the game after beating the league outside of trading or getting some postgame legendaries. Actually going beyond that, and properly getting into Pokemon, requires an insane amount of autism simply due to the nature of how the games are designed.

If you're talking about the games in particular, beyond the surface level they are extremely autistic, consisting of a bunch of repetitive tasks you have to perform in order to obtain "perfect" pokemon, as well as big lists to complete like the dex, medals, etc. Also it's a Nintendo franchise so the fans are either little kids or autistic manchildren with no inbetween.
