Then there's the issue with the bara design clashing with the 1st and 2nd forms. Humanoid evos for quadrupeds is a cheap way to harvest natural human anthropocentric biases to make mons look more evolved.
And it isn't like they didn't have options. A Fire/Dark quadruped tiger would look awesome.
Then you have the excessive colour contrast plopped over an excessively simple pattern. A slightly less saturated palette combined with a more interesting pattern would be far better.
So, to keep it short:
1. Disregard for consistency on two levels (type vs. looks, evolution vs. previous forms).
2. Unwillingness to look for interesting new concepts.
3. Reactive design that avoids complains instead of seeking excellence.
4. Oversaturated palette.
5. Boring pattern.
