This episode illustrated why Dynamax doesn't work as a concept. Because they're so fucking huge, they lack the mobility required to do the things Pokemon normally do in battles.

They just stand there and shoot beams at each other, because they're too big to dodge. They have to rely on Max Guard to avoid getting hit, or like Charizard did, use the recoil from Max Airstream to move backwards.

There's no strategy or mobility in Dynamax battles, it's just "attack until the other Pokemon faints".
