Makes me wish Pokemon was a more story/character driven series. Really sucks to see cool characters like him wasted on just a couple of lines of dialogue.

The orange trim on his jacket combined with the dark blue-green liner resemble wings from Charizard or Dragonite. I wish there was more in his design that resembles his ace salamence. It's very simple and I love it either way

Should've made any boss NPC have more build up, especially the champ and E4.
Drake says alot of the little screentime he has.
What's the point of making a special boss character with a good design and theme if they aren't gonna do shit? At least the Manga tried to make the E4 have more too them than stand in a room.

I like how they characterized him in Masters as kind of a cool older trainer who would give you advice and he talks about his interesting experiences a lot (including mentions of Briney). This is my favorite interaction with him though

How to insert Hoenn elite four into main story:
-Sidney appears with Steven when you are given the Silph Scope. They could be there training together or something.
-Phoebe can be on the top of Mt. Pyre with the 2 old people
-Glacia can like meet you in Mossdeep and tell you about Shoal Cave to the north, maybe being the person who trades shoals or whatever
-Drake can like, idk, help you get to Seafloor Cavern or something. Maybe he’s visiting Steven’s house. Or maybe in a big leap he can be related to Mr. Briney and be the one who sails you to the battle frontier
