>>42729908>BudgetProbably similar to how it always is, maybe a little more given it's their console debut, not to mention they somehow got ahold of the Splatoon 2 engine for Let's Go and SS.
>OutsourcingCheck the credits, I'm sure they did outsource a little bit. I know they did for SM, but that might have been for the "serious" cutscenes I don't know. No asking Monolith Soft for help though. Now there's a group who can make a video game, update it, and turn cut content into DLC well. Of course they've had years to fuck up and learn from it by now, but honestly Game Freak has been doing Pokemon about as long.
>>42729950Yeah, the Wild Area doesn't appeal to me in general. The only other open world games I've really played are Xenoblade X (pretty good world, questionable changes to Xenoblade's base mechanics, bad everything else) and BotW (phenomenal mechanics, okay at best overworld, four of the same dungeon, test chambers that don't feel right). Doesn't quite scratch the same itch as the first Zelda to me, and I don't want Pokemon to scratch that itch anyway. I want Pokemon to scratch the same kind of itch Kirby does, something fairly easy until I beat the game where the challenge ramps up. Not something fairly easy until I beat the game then I have to go look into some sphincters for big Pokemon. Maybe I'm just not the target audience, and maybe HAL should just make an actual Kirby RPG instead of jokes and references in the Clash games, you have a the making of a Job system seriously.
I guess in the end it doesn't really matter, I'm just going to catch the new Pokemon because I caught all the others anyway, no real need to get worked up over weather. Just seems like a pain, especially if my autism gets up in a dander and I want those weird ass marks. I guess I don't like it when the balance of power is too in the game's favor, I like feeling like I can outsmart the game sometimes.
