I have never really liked the main games beyond the Pokémon themselves, but I am still always hopeful for the future.

I was, until we learned SwSh outsold any previous Pokemon game. At this point they know they can make bank no matter how little they try, so they have no reason to try.

Me, this games are really bad. I don't care about the dexcut, and all of my favourites are in Sword and Shield. But the GAME is really, really bad. Not even just mediocre, it's bad. I don't know how they dropped the ball this fucking hard because even Gen 7 had redeeming qualities.

X was the last mainline game I enjoyed. Emulated US while waiting with cautious optimism for SwSh and was extremely glad I didn't pay money for it, and now SwSh has shit the bed with a promise of even worse to come so barring some kind of divine intervention or bizarrely high quality spinoffs that's pretty much it for me. RIP
